Are you confused?

Are you confused about what your dog can eat and what it can’t eat? You have probably heard many things that can be good for your dog as well as many things that will not be good for your dog. But what can you actually give your dog? Here are some ideas on things to give your dog, and things not to give your dog, to make sure you keep your fluffy friend healthy!

Good things for your dog

Here are some things that are perfectly okay to give to your dog. Some things that are great are bananas, lettuce, carrots, pears, rice, meat, pumpkin, fish, spinach, peanut butter, and cantaloupe. This is a solid list of things that will be okay to feed your dog, and they will probably like most of them! You will have to use your judgment to see which ones are best for your dog, but these foods will be safe for them!

Things your dog can sometimes eat

Things that can be okay for your dog to eat from time to time are pineapple, tomatoes, broccoli, hot dogs, potatoes, blueberries, strawberries, watermelon, mushrooms, cheese, apples, and bread. These food items will be okay for your dog to eat, but remember that they should not be eating them frequently. Again, use your best judgment when it comes to these foods.

What to be careful with

There are some food items that you must be careful with if you want to feed them to your dog. These foods include popcorn, cherries, shrimp, peppers, almonds, corn, celery, and marshmallows. These foods might be okay for your dog, but it is suggested that you do not feed these things to your dog. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

What foods to stay away from

There are some foods that your dog should absolutely not eat. These include walnuts, pomegranate, onions, avocado, chocolate, grapes, nuts, gum, and garlic. These foods are things you need to keep your dog away from at all costs. These things can be very harmful for your dog and you do not want to risk your dog having health issues because of a piece of chocolate.

Why not almonds when peanut butter is okay?

It may seem pretty confusing. You may be asking yourself why your dog can eat peanut butter, but they cannot eat almonds. This is because peanuts are not technically a nut. They have different vitamins in them that are actually good for dogs.

There may be some other confusion as to why some fruits are okay when others are not, or why some vegetables are okay when others are not. Simply remember that different fruits and vegetables have different vitamins and other nutrients that can be either good or bad for your dog.

Better safe than sorry

When it comes to your dog’s health, it is always better to be safe than sorry. Use this guide to help keep your dog healthy to keep them around for a long time!
